Khadka had earlier gone on a three-day hunger strike in Kanchanpur from November 12 to 14 with the aim of conducting a nationwide campaign.
Social activist Raju Singh Khadka has begun a hunger strike in Dhangadhi demanding relief from the burden of debt. Khadka, 67, of Bhimdatta Municipality-5, Kanchanpur, began his satyagraha and hunger strike near Park Mode, Gen-G Marg, Dhangadhi-1, on Saturday afternoon.
‘The country cannot move forward by depending on foreign loans, we must make good use of our own resources,’ Khadka said in a banner hung at the hunger strike site.
He has also demanded that the government not take foreign loans for the reconstruction of destroyed structures and elections, nationalize the assets of the corrupt through asset laundering, and collect donations from sources within Nepal to conduct development and elections. He has drawn the attention of both the Nepal government and citizens by demanding that education, health, employment, and good governance be maintained.
Khadka had earlier gone on a three-day hunger strike in Kanchanpur from 12 to 14 Kartik with the aim of conducting a nationwide campaign. He said that he plans to continue the sit-in and hunger strike to death in Kailali from 15 to 17 Kartik and then go to Karnali Province. He said that he will stay and sleep in the same place throughout the hunger strike.
