Ten people were injured in an electric jeep accident in Surnaya Rural Municipality-7 Bhanjyang of Baitadi on Jai Prithvi highway.
The said jeep of S.P.P.001 J 0620 number going from Dhangadhi to Purchaundi of Baitadi had an accident on Saturday afternoon.
There were 19 people in the jeep including the driver, 8 were safe and 10 were injured, said Police Inspector Baldev Badu, spokesperson of District Police Office Baitadi.
The injured are 15-year-old Bhuwan Saud, 28-year-old Yashoda Saud, 5-year-old Kobit Pant, 28-year-old Pavitra Pant, 19-year-old Naresh Bohra, 28-year-old Vasanthi Awasthi and 17-year-old Vikas Saud of Purchaundi Municipality-5.
Similarly, 19-year-old Kamala Dhanuk of Purchaundi Municipality-4, 22-year-old Prakash Dhanuk of the same place and 22-year-old Savitri Dhami of Purchaundi-3 were also injured.
Police Inspector Badu said that all the injured were taken to Dadeldhura Hospital for treatment. The EV vehicle came into contact with the lender and the driver, Mahesh Bohra of Purchaundi Municipality-5, is absconding. The police said that they are searching for him. District Police Office Baitadi has informed that further investigation is being done on the incident.
