A landslide accompanied by rain has damaged a house in Surnaya Rural Municipality-2 Chowpata on Sunday afternoon and an old woman inside the house was injured.

Police Inspector Balram Pandey, spokesperson of District Police Office, Baitadi, said that the house of local Gris Chand was damaged after a landslide came over the house.

Chand's 90-year-old mother, Godavari Chand, was injured. He said that the injured Chand was being treated at Baitadi District Hospital due to severe head injuries. 

He said that Chand's two-storey 12-room house was completely damaged due to a landslide that fell from the house around 2:30 in the afternoon. He said, "All the people of the house, except one old woman, went to see gaura when the landslide occurred." All the materials inside the damaged house, including food, clothes, etc., have been buried.

The police and the locals are currently working to clear the landslide at the scene.
