Four people died on the spot when the jeep of Ugratara Transport No. SE 1 J 738 fell down about 250 meters.
Four people were killed in a jeep accident that took place on Thursday morning in Navadurga rural municipality-5 wide inner unpaved road section of Dadeldhura. Six people were injured in the accident.
According to District Police Office Dadeldhura, at around 9 in the morning, four people died on the spot when a jeep numbered 1 J 738 of Ugratara Transport, which was coming from Thantabazar towards the headquarters, fell down about 250 meters.
35-year-old Ram Bahadur Saud, along with the driver, are being sent to Dadeldhura Hospital for treatment, police said. According to police inspector and information officer Dumbar Bista, among the deceased are 18-year-old Suresh Saud, 23-year-old Suresh Parki, 40-year-old Tara Awasthi and 72-year-old Kalawati Saud of Navadurga-5.
Among those injured in the accident are 18-year-old Sushila Bik of Navadurga-5, 4-year-old Pratika Parki, 48-year-old Chanda Bahadur Saud, driver Ram Bahadur Saud, 42-year-old Ganesh Bahadur Saud and 44-year-old Prakash Bik. They were rescued and immediately sent to the hospital.
According to police, preliminary investigations revealed that the jeep went off the road and fell down about 250 meters. It is said that a police team has been deployed at the scene and further investigation is underway.
