An inmate of Kailali Jail has died. 56-year-old Ramkisan Chaudhary of Tikapur municipality-4 of Kailali died on Monday. According to District Police Office Kailali spokesperson Rajkumar Singh, Chaudhary was taken to Seti Provincial Hospital at 2 o'clock due to health problems.
After being taken to the hospital, the doctor declared Chaudhary dead. Chowdhury was sent to jail on July 29 for preliminary investigation in the extortion case. During the last two months, three prisoners including Chaudhary of Kailali Jail have died.
28-year-old Harisinh Pali of Bhageshwar Rural Municipality 5 of Dadeldhura, who was serving his sentence in Kailali Jail after being convicted of a banking offense, died suspiciously on June 2. Similarly, on the night of 23rd July, Bharat Chaudhary of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan 4 died in a violent clash between prisoners.
It is difficult to rehabilitate the injured in the prison
The Kailali prison administration has not been able to rehabilitate 38 of the 48 people who were injured in the violent incident that took place in the Kailali prison on the night of 23rd July, which resulted in the death of one prisoner. Even after discharge, they are kept in Seti Provincial Hospital.
According to the prison administration, seven of those who have been discharged have been transferred to Karaga in other districts. Three people have been transferred to Kathmandu after treatment. According to Kailali Prison Administrator Prakash Dhungana, two more people are being treated in Seti.
Prison administrator Dhungana said that there is a risk that there will be problems again when they are returned to Kailali prison. Dhungana said that he requested for transfer to another prison. Said that 14 people are going to be transferred.
