A woman has been arrested along with Vanalsun from Pulghat in Darchula headquarters. According to the police, 30-year-old Dhana Dhami of Naugad Rural Municipality-4 Sipty was arrested.
According to the police, Dhami, who was coming from Dharchula, India, was arrested around 4:00 PM on Monday after the temporary police post stationed at Khalanga border bridge connecting Nepal-India, the police team from District Police Office Darchula and the armed police team found forest garlic during the check.
Information Officer of Darchula Police Chhatra Bahadur Rawat said that when 5 kg of wild garlic was found during the check, the police took it into custody. The arrested woman brought forest garlic hidden inside a bag of sprouted food.
A woman who was illegally importing forest garlic from India to Nepal without a collection permit was arrested and handed over to the Division Forest Office, the police said.
