A child has died after drowning in a river in Kailali. A local 9-year-old Roshan Bohora died on the spot while bathing in Rora river in Lamkichuha municipality-1 of the district.

According to the local police office Lamki, Bohra had reached Rora river with three friends to escape the heat.

Police Inspector Lokendra Bahadur Singh said that Roshan drowned while the children were swimming in the river. The police said that even though his friends tried to rescue him, they could not save him.
