A girl died of diarrhea in Baitadi. Birendra Bohra, in-charge of Hadakot health post, said that Aarti, the 13-year-old daughter of Surendra Rokaya of Dilashaini Rural Municipality-4, died of diarrhea.
'It is understood that the girl died after the family refused to take the girl to the health institution for treatment,' said Bohra, 'Instead of taking the girl to the health institution, they have been calling dhamijhankri at home.'
Rokaya, who had diarrhea for three days, died at home on Monday morning. After getting the news of the death, health workers reached the spot. The distance between the health post and the house of the deceased girl is two and a half hours.
Kapil Rokaya, the 11-year-old brother of the deceased girl, also has diarrhoea. The in-charge Bohra said that he had given medicine to him.
Girl Maheshwari Mavi is studying in Class 8 at Navaghar. His father is in India for employment. In the last financial year in Baitadi, 4 thousand 539 people were diagnosed with diarrhea. According to the data, all the patients have recovered after receiving medical treatment, said the information officer of the office, Bipin Akhtar.
