A grand fair is held here every year on the occasion of Janai Purnima. Hundreds of pilgrims and tourists from Bajhang, Bajura, Achham and Doti districts come to Khaptad for the puja as well as the fair.
On the occasion of Khapar Dah Mela, Gulmapati Senan Anupam Aryal said that Samarjit Gulm of Khaptad, established for the protection of Khaptad National Park, cleaned the Khapar Dah area before the fair and after the end of the fair. Besides, Gulmapati Aryal has said that a health camp has also been conducted taking care of the health of the devotees who come to the fair. "We have provided health services to 138 people including 65 women and 73 men from the health camp," said Senani Aryal.

The discussion of Khaptad started in the year 2022 after the then King Mahendra met Sadhanarat Khaptad Baba there. According to the locals, Khaptad National Park was established by the then King Birendra in 040 year covering an area of 225 square kilometers at the request of Khaptad Baba himself. Khaptad extends from Bhanjang, a post of 1,420 meters above sea level, to Sahasraling, which is 3,03 meters high.
Khaptad region and its Patans, lakes, caves etc. are connected with ancient civilizations, cultures and various mythological and religious stories. Since the beginning of human culture, it is widely believed that Khaptad has taken the lead as a spiritual center for ascetics, a playground of God and a pilgrimage site for religious people.
Khaptad region is also invaluable from the point of view of biological diversity . Khadka, Executive Director of Khaptad Region Tourism Development and Management Committee, says that there are 22 grassy plains, 9 dahs and 52 thumkas in this area where the Kailash snow range lies. According to him, more than 250 types of herbs, 567 types of flowering plants, 23 types of wild animals are found in Khaptad. Khaptad, which is believed to be a treasure of precious minerals and even fuel, has not been further investigated.
Khaptad, which is like a garden of flowers in May-June, snow drifts in October-October. There are dozens of pyramid-style mountain ranges adorned with multi-colored flowers, diverse waterfalls, wildlife and Himalayan views that thrill everyone. There is a Sahasralinga in the form of a Shivalinga in the center of the Khaptad with Patan and Thumkas.
