It has been raining continuously for 3 days in Sudurpaschim Province. After a long time since the onset of monsoon, the continuous rains have brought relief to the farmers who have gathered their crops.

According to Madanraj Joshi, assistant agricultural extension officer of Krishi Gyan Kendra Kailali, the farmers have been relieved by the recent rains. Rainy crops including paddy, maize, millet and sugarcane have received relief despite the delayed rains. He said that the farmers are worried that this year's rice planting will be affected due to lack of continuous rain. He said, "If there is continuous rain at this rate, the possibility of good rice crop has increased."  

Meanwhile, according to Sanjay Kumar Shah, Head of Water and Meteorology Office at Attaria, Kailali, even in the next few days there is no possibility of immediate heavy rains, as the low pressure line is still there, light and moderate rains will continue. "Moderate rain will bring more relief to the farmers," he said. According to him, it is raining in all Terai and hilly districts of Far West.

Due to a weak system, the monsoon that entered on May 15 was diverted before it could spread. In the second phase, monsoon entered on May 29. On June 6, the rains started after the monsoon spread across the country. 

Although it is estimated that monsoon rains will be more than Sardar this year, since June to the second week of July, the farmers are worried that their crops will be affected. He said that due to continuous rains across the country, paddy planting, which had stopped due to lack of rain in the eastern Terai region, is now being done. 

According to the Office of Water and Meteorology, Attaria, the continuous rain this time has brought the level of some rivers in Kailali and Kanchanpur to the level of alertness. However, since Wednesday afternoon, the level of some rivers has been decreasing since the rain started to decrease. The level of Mahakali river reached 6.35 meters on Wednesday morning. The warning level of Mahakali is 6.8 meters. Water in Mahakali is receding.

Similarly, the surface of the Pathraiya river, which originates from the Chure area of Kailali and flows in the southeastern part of the district, reached 4.44 meters. While the warning level of the river is 4.50 meters. According to Water and Meteorology Office Attaria, the highest rainfall in Kailali in the last 24 hours was 133.4 mm in Garbha Darbar area of Chure Rural Municipality. 62.6 mm rain fell in Dhangadhi and Attaria and 92.8 mm in Kanchanpur's Dodhara Chandni.
