Anami Janaki Pujara, who works at the Basic Health Center Kandhar located in the remote Sigas Rural Municipality-4 here, saved the life of a newborn baby by giving him artificial respiration. She saved the life of Lakshmi Dhami's newborn baby by giving him artificial respiration for 6 and a half hours.
"After the baby was born, she had breathing problems," Pujara said, "As it was not possible to take her to another place at night, we saved the newborn's life by artificial respiration."
To save the life of a suffocating baby, equipment including oxygen, ambubag, suction machine and penguin machine are needed . In spite of lack of other health materials except Ambubeg in the basic health center, the health worker Pujara saved the child by giving him artificial breath for a long time .
It takes 9 hours from Sigas to Dadeldhura, the nearest hospital. It takes 5 hours to reach from the health center to the road. Chakra Bahadur Dhami, in charge of Basic Health Center Kandhara, said that the infant's life was saved by artificial respiration from 9:33 PM to 4:00 AM.
"There was only an Ambubeg in the health center, the child's life was saved with the help of the same Ambubeg and artificial respiration," he said, "There should be necessary health materials in remote health centers." The local level itself is responsible for managing health institutions within the local level.
Sigas rural municipality allocated a budget of 6 lakh rupees for the purchase of health materials and other health materials for various Worthing Centers in the last financial year . Ghanshyam Bohra, Head of the Health Branch, said that the materials requested from the health institutions are purchased and given.
The constitution has guaranteed every citizen the right of access to basic health care . Even though stable services reach remote areas, citizens have to be deprived of basic health services due to lack of health supplies.
