The death toll has risen to three as one person was injured in a jeep accident at Tunigada on Kavadi-Kudi road in Himali rural municipality-5 of the district.

Police Inspector and Information Officer of the District Police Office, Dev Bahadur Chaudhary, has informed that 35-year-old Juneli Rokaya of the same rural municipality-5, who was injured in a jeep accident, died during the rescue.

According to him, the jeep accident occurred while going to the ward office of ward number 5 from Kudai to Kavadi.

It is said that there were more passengers in the jeep than the capacity and the road was rough and the accident could have been uncontrollable. Two of the 19 occupants of the jeep died on the spot.

The other two who died in the accident are 76-year-old Bijoura Rokaya and 75-year-old Bazhakala Rokaya.

In the accident, the condition of 13 people is critical and the condition of three people is normal. Ambulance and health workers of the village have been mobilized for their rescue.

Chief District Officer Meghnath Padhya has informed that efforts are being made to rescue the injured through the helicopter of the Nepali Army.

According to him, a letter has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs to rescue the seriously injured. At present, the injured are being treated by the village health workers at Tunigada in Kudi.
