Thirteen people who were injured in a jeep accident while coming to Kavadi from Kudi village in Bajura's Himali Rural Municipality have been rescued by a Nepalese army helicopter.

While coming from Kudi to Ward Office Kavadi, the jeep of number 03-001 J 0338 went out of control and had an accident. Police Inspector Dev Bahadur Chaudhary of the District Police Office informed that two people died at the scene of the accident and one person died during rescue.

The injured driver Gauri Budha, 23, Bazahlal Rokaya, 35, who lives in the same Rural Municipality-5, Bhadauri Rokaya, 70, Bazadhan Rokaya, 22, and Bir Bahadur Rokaya, 45, were taken to the Provincial Hospital Surkhet of Karnali Province by helicopter of the Nepali Army, according to Shital Bahadur Rawal, the Assistant Chief District Officer of the District Administration Office. He said that since it was not possible to take all the injured at once, they were rescued several times and taken to Surkhet by helicopter for further treatment.

 

Police inspector Chaudhary said that 76-year-old Vijoura Rokaya and 75-year-old Bazhakala Rokaya died at the scene of the accident . During the rescue, 35-year-old Juneli Rokaya died. The police say that the jeep was carrying more passengers than its capacity on the unpaved road.
