One person died after drowning in the canal of Ranijamara Kularia irrigation project. One person died on Saturday after drowning while bathing in a canal in Baghmara, Lamki Chuhanagarpalika-6 of the district.

The deceased is 22-year-old Prem Rasaili of Dailekh Athabis Municipality-2, district  Kailali Police Office has informed. Rasaili was living in his in-laws house at Lamkichuha-6 Gulra.

The number of drowning deaths in the district has been increasing for some time.

Only on Friday, brothers of the same family drowned in the river in Gauriganga municipality. Lalu Dhami's 25-year-old son Umesh Dhami and 20-year-old Prakash Dhami of Aitha drowned in Likma river.
