Tikapur municipality has banned the use of plastic bags. The municipality has made such an arrangement to be implemented from today.

Mayor Ramlal Tharu stated that he has been involved in the campaign to make the municipality a plastic-free zone since two months ago  They have requested local political parties, traders, officials of industry and commerce association and associations, journalists and social workers to prevent the use of plastic items. 

The seller of plastic bags will be fined 1,000 for the first time, 3,000 for the second time and 5,000 for the third time, against the decision of the municipality, he said. Similarly, those who use plastic bags will be fined 10 for the first time, 50 for the second time and 100 for the third time. Those who produce plastic bags will be fined 2,000 for the first time, 4,000 for the second time and 6,000 for the third time.

Mayor Choudhary expressed his commitment to strictly implement the decision to make the municipality plastic-free. The municipality has been requesting not to use plastic by publishing a notice on this matter in the local gazette on 25th Chait 2080.
