Four villages in Darchula have been damaged due to incessant rains since Tuesday night, when the electricity canal was flooded.

Due to the floods in Beas rural municipality-2, Ghattekhola, the canal of Dumling small hydropower project was washed away and the electricity production was stopped and the locals were forced to live in darkness. 

Ward President Dheeran Budhathoki said that power supply has been stopped in Lower Dumling, Bichgaon, Chaurakatha and Dumling Gothangaon of Ward number 2. According to him, due to the continuous rain since Tuesday night, the flood occurred in the river around 1:15 am on Wednesday morning, causing damage to the electricity canal and nearby houses.

The flood has damaged the canal of the Dumling small hydropower project, which was built with the financial support of the Poverty Alleviation Program and the technical support of the Rajakot Youth Club in the financial year 2061/62. People of 150 households in four villages are forced to live in darkness after the power supply was cut off. 

Similarly, the flood has washed away 2 wooden bridges connecting Dumling and Kathadumling. In the absence of a bridge, the movement of the citizens of Kathadumlinga has also been stopped . Apinampa Conservation Area Dumling Post office and local 5  Ward president Budhathoki informed that the house is in danger.
