An 8-year-old boy died after drowning in a ditch in Seegaon, Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-12.

Shiddharth Shrestha, the son of local Raju Shrestha, was seriously injured when he drowned while playing in the frozen pit near his house.

After the incident, he was immediately taken to Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi. But the doctor declared Siddharth dead after the examination, according to District Police Office, Kailali.

According to the police, the preliminary investigation revealed that the child drowned in a ditch near the house while playing.
