The construction work of zebra crossing has started from Thursday in Dadeldhura's main market area and high traffic areas. As part of the campaign launched under the leadership of the District Police Office, Dadeldhura, zebra crossings have been constructed in Bagbazar and Bus Park areas in the initial phase. A zebra crossing is going to be built for the first time in Dadeldhura.

Local Manoj Rawal expressed his gratitude for the establishment of zebra crossing and expressed his belief that this structure will be useful for local pedestrians. It is very helpful for common people like us who have to cross the road daily. Thanks to the responsible agency," he said.

Ward President of Amargadhi Municipality-5 Tank Chhetri stated that it is possible to keep zebra crossing with the cooperation of all parties and expressed the opinion that such structures are necessary to ensure road safety . He said that this work is now possible as a result of the coordination between the police and local residents.

District Police Office Dadeldhura Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sugandh Shrestha said that traffic management is expected to be eased through zebra crossing. He said that he started this work in the market area because such structures are needed in places where there is more traffic and pedestrian traffic. According to him, public awareness signboards have also been placed at the place where the zebra crossing is constructed. He also informed that information boards have been placed at various places keeping in mind the safety of both pedestrians and drivers.

District Traffic Police Office Dadeldhura Chief and Police Deputy Inspector (SAI) Hark Bahadur Saud said that the use of zebra crossing will help in reducing road accidents. He said that the tradition of using zebra crossing has also been established in Dadeldhura and he believes that it will reduce the risk of accidents and make pedestrians comfortable. He said, 'It is everyone's responsibility to use zebra crossing while crossing the road.' According to the District Police Office, preparations are being made to build zebra crossings in Tufandanda, Kirtipur, Pokhara, Syaule and Bhatkanda areas as well. Before this, voices were being raised many times saying that there is a risk of accidents due to the lack of zebra crossing.
