The Sudurpaschim Province Government is presenting the budget for the next financial year 2082/83 at 5 pm on Sunday. However, due to the tussle between the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, the budget has not been finalized even by noon.
According to Ministry of Economic Affairs sources, Minister of Physical Infrastructure Development Ministry Surendra Bahadur Pal, who has the largest budget, lobbied Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah and Economic Affairs Minister Bahadur Singh Thapa until Saturday night to increase the budget ceiling of his ministry. That's why the Ministry of Physical Affairs had not prepared the budget and sent it to the financial affairs until Sunday morning.
Ministry of Economic Affairs sources said that due to the delay of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, the overall budget preparation work is moving.
Minister of State for Economic Affairs Prakash Bahadur Bam said that the budget work is almost completed and the rest of the work is in the process of completion.
The province has announced that it will bring a budget of around 30 billion for the next financial year. A budget of 31 billion 54 karat was brought for the current financial year.
