Four people were injured in a leopard attack in Sayal Rural Municipality-6, Rokaya Bada, Doti. The police informed that four people were injured in the attack of a leopard that entered the village at around 4:30 pm on Sunday evening.
According to District Police Office Doti, 30-year-old Pashupati Katuwal, 50-year-old Khadak Rokaya, 45-year-old Kalu Rokaya and 13-year-old Srijan Rokaya were injured in the leopard attack. Among the injured, Pashupati Katuwal and Khadka Rokaya are in moderate condition, police said.
Some quadrupeds were also injured after being attacked by a leopard. A bull and a cow of the local Kalawati Rokaya were injured, while a bull of Prem Rokaya was injured. Similarly, two goats of Prem Katuwal have gone missing.
According to the locals, while the cattle were grazing, a leopard suddenly came out of the forest near the settlement and attacked the cattle. After that, the leopard that entered the settlement also attacked the people. When it was seen that more human losses could be caused by the attack of the leopard, the local residents tried to drive away the leopard by using stones, sticks and mudha for their own protection. Meanwhile, it has been mentioned in the preliminary information of the police that a leopard was killed.
The injured have been sent to District Hospital Doti for treatment, police said, and further investigation is underway into the incident.
