An old man has died after being hit by a mini truck in Baitadi. According to the police, 81-year-old Mahabir Bista died after being hit by a truck in Surnaya Rural Municipality-5 Bistapali on Friday night.

According to the District Police Office, Baitadi, a mini truck bearing the number S.O.P.01001 A 1813, which was going from Dhangadhi to Bistapali, hit the side of the road at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday night. Baldev Badu, spokesman of Baitadi police, said that Bishta, who was seriously injured in a collision with a mini truck, died on the way while being taken to Dhangadhi for treatment.

The body of the deceased has been kept at District Hospital Baitadi for post-mortem. The police have detained the truck and the driver and are investigating the incident, police said.
