The police have arrested the jeep driver and the moneylender from Bajiipur in Purchaud of Baitadi along with the banned Bindi. On Thursday, the police said that Bindi, Jeep driver and Sahu were arrested from Purchaud Municipality-10 Bajiipur.

According to the District Police Office, Baitadi, based on a tip-off that the banned bindi was being transported in a jeep, the jeep driver and the moneylender were arrested along with the bindi worth about three lakh 30 thousand rupees.

After receiving a tip-off that a Bindi was being transported in a Bolero jeep numbered Sup Pr 01001 J 1713 going to Haat from Bajipur, a plain cloth police team from the police office and a police team from the Purghat police station seized the Bindi, said Inspector Baldev Badu, spokesperson of District Police Office Baitadi.

Jeep with Bindi, Jeep driver Mansingh Dhami, 22 years old from Sigas Rural Municipality-2 and Dinesh Mahara, 28 years old from Purchaud Municipality-10 Bajiipur, have been detained.

The police said that preparations are being made to hand over the seized vehicle, driver and money lender to the Mahakali Customs Office on Friday for necessary action.
