The accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in Doti was arrested on Monday while fleeing to India. According to police, 61-year-old Gangaram Koli of Dipayal Silagadi Municipality-8 was arrested from Gaddachouki Naka.
According to DSP Sagar Bohora of District Police Office Kanchanpur, the arrested Koli has been sent to doti.
According to DSP Dipendra Pal, the spokesperson of District Police Office Doti, a complaint was lodged with the police on May 11 that Koli raped a 14-year-old girl who went to Shivratri Mela at Dipayal Silgarhi-8 Naridang on February 14. Based on the complaint, the police started searching for the accused.
While she was sitting in Peepal Chautara while returning from the fair, the victim gave a statement to the police that Koli took her to the nearby old Panighatta and threatened to kill her if she told anyone. The police said that a detailed health examination of the victim has been done.
"We have been able to catch the accused after continuous tracking," said DSP Pal. The police said that the victim is pregnant.
