The Sudurpaschim Province Government has said that priority will be given to multi-year and sequential projects of provincial pride, strategic importance, which will reduce the budget in small, scattered and unproductive schemes in the budget of the next financial year 082/83.

Minister of Economic Affairs Bahadur Singh Thapa presented the principles and priorities of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 082/83 in the Provincial Assembly on Sunday.

Minister Thapa has said that priority will be given to the construction of infrastructure in areas such as energy, housing, urban development, sanitation, roads, bridges, irrigation and drinking water in the upcoming budget. In that process, he said, a policy will be taken to encourage public private partnership in the construction of new plans. 

"Budget will be allocated with priority for big and epoch-making projects that support capital construction," said in the principle and priority of the budget presented by Minister Thapa, "For the development of the energy sector, priority will be given to hydropower production and encouragement will be given to mobilize private sector capital in cooperation with the union and local government."

He said that the religious, natural and adventure tourism sector will be encouraged in the Far West, where the main contribution of the tourism sector is likely to be in the economic development of the province.
