Kailali Chief Customs Office Chief Anant Prasad Timsina was beaten up by city police on Saturday night. Around 10 o'clock in the night, a team including the city police chief of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city Laxmansingh Dhami entered the premises of the office and beat them up.

In protest against the beating of the head of the office, the employees and customs agents of the Kailali customs office stopped the work by downing their pen on Sunday. Import and export from Trinagar border has been stopped on Sunday. According to the office, an average of three crores of revenue is collected from the Kailali customs office daily. The revenue collection work has been automatically affected when the employees are protesting.  Khim Prasad Aryal, the information officer of the

office, said that while Timsina, the head of customs, was outside the main gate of the office after eating, a team of city police came and beat her. "We found out after watching the CCTV footage of the beating from outside the street to inside the office, 'The city police team suddenly beat up the speeding Indian number plate vehicle when Chief Timsina was signaling to stop.'

In Dhangadhi, it is understood that a team of city police reached the customs area in search of the vehicle after breaking the tigard of the plant on the 6-lane road and going to the customs. There is an armed police barricade near the place where the incident took place. Kailali Customs Agent Federation President Dipendra Prasad Bhatt said that the security personnel of the armed police stationed there were silent spectators to the incident. "Demanding for a fair investigation of the incident, we have requested the Kailali administration to guarantee the safety of the employees," he said.

DSP Premsingh Dhami of Armed Police No. 34 Gana said that Timsina was brought inside the office after a general argument started between the head of customs Timsina and the city chief near the barrier of the armed forces, but later it was understood that a team of the city police entered the office and beat her up.

DSP Rajkumar Singh, spokesperson of District Police Office Kailali, said that Timsina had filed a complaint saying that she had been beaten up. "We are studying the incident in detail," he said.

Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city on Sunday afternoon asked city police chief Dhami to submit an explanation about the incident within 24 hours. It has been seen that the head of the customs office was beaten inside the office. What is the reason for violating the dignity of office outside of your jurisdiction? Please submit an explanation within 24 hours with proper reasons,'' said Dhami in a letter signed by Narendra Bahadur Khati, the chief administrative officer of the sub-metropolitan city. City Police Dhami has switched off his mobile phone.
