Nazir Mian, the head of Far West Province, has said that there is no need to ask for rights according to the constitution and the law. Addressing the first session of the National Dalit Journalist Association, Nepal Far West Province, he said that the constitution provides equal rights and rights to all citizens.
'The constitution has given the right, it is not necessary to ask for it. But due to the lack of proper implementation of the law, the oppressed class is in trouble,' he said.
Narrating his experiences during the constitution making process, he said that in order to bring equality in the society, the suppressed mentality should be removed. He also mentioned about the sufferings of the Dalit community in the past. 'In our time we were not allowed to enter the school. It was quickly pushed through the door and brought inside. They were treated like animals. But today we have reached the level of making the constitution,' he recalled.
He said that the Tharu, Madheshi, Dalit, tribal and Muslim communities have always fought together for the issues of the oppressed class. In the program, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of the province Hira Sarki said that the National Association of Dalit Journalists should take up the issue of the Dalit community in a special way. He condemned the ongoing attacks on journalists and said that emphasis should be placed on the safety of journalists. In the
program, Central President of National Dalit Journalist Association, Nepal, Vinod Pahari, disclosed the truth about the murder of journalist Suresh Bhool and demanded justice for the victim's family. He also demanded that arrangements should be made for the education of Suresh Bhool's children.
Himesh Vick unanimously elected state president
The first session of the National Dalit Journalist Association of Sudurpaschim Province has unanimously elected Himesh Vick as state president. Surat Sunar as vice president, Sodha Nepali as women vice president, Dhani Koli as secretary, Ravi Wad as joint secretary and Saraswati Bhool as treasurer were unanimously elected.
Similarly, Milan Nepali, Surendra Sangam, Sita Vik, Manisha Sunar and Ravi Bhool have been selected as members.
