The District Administration Office has started taking action against medical practitioners who have been selling and treating medicines without a license for a long time. The administration has started to clamp down on such medicals.

Only on Saturday, Shulab Clinic, which has been operating illegally for 27 years, was sealed in Jhota Bazar, Kedarsyun Rural Municipality-1. The team of District Administration Office, Household and Small Industries Office, District Police Office, District Hospital and People's Representative of Kedarsyun Rural Municipality sealed the said medical.

During the monitoring, it was found that even though a large quantity of medicine was kept in the clinic, it was not registered, the person selling the medicine was not a recognized pharmacist, and in medical, Ayurvedic, dental and other grocery store items were also kept for sale.

A few days ago, the medical facilities of Jayaprithvi Municipality, Khaptadchanna and Bungal Municipality were also sealed. Banned drugs were also found to be kept for sale in those medicals.

Most of the drug stores are operating illegally throughout Bajhang district, some people have died while being treated by fake health workers. Not only in remote villages, there are such drug shops in the headquarter where the regulatory agencies are monitoring round the clock and there are accusations that the medical operators are also dealing in drugs.

Last January, when the team of drug administration department came to monitor, the medical directors of headquarters Chainpur and Chhabispathivera rural municipality had received prior notice of the monitoring, so they locked the drug store before the team arrived and became uncontactable.

On January 21, a detailed news was published in Kantipur under the title 'Bajhang's pain: life at risk'. District administration office has taken this matter seriously. Now this situation will not last for a long time,' Assistant Chief District Officer Satyakumari Joshi, who is leading the monitoring team, said, 'If you want to run a medicine shop, you have to run it according to the rules . Otherwise it had to be closed.'

She said that the campaign to monitor the drug shops in all the districts of the district has started and informed that illegal medical shops will be brought under the legal scope and action will be taken against fake health workers.

According to the records of the Drug Administration Department, there are only 35 registered pharmacies in Bajhang district.  But health workers say that more than 35 drug shops are located in Jai Prithvi Highway area alone. There are unofficial statistics that more than 150 drug shops are operating across the district and more than 15 of them are being operated illegally by Indian nationals.

Due to treatment by such clinics, various types of health-related complications, including the death of some of them, are being made public again and again. Locals complain that these medical doctors charge much higher prices than prescribed.

The officials of the regulatory body say that the people's representatives and leaders of the political parties are also uncooperative while trying to control this disorder that has been happening in the district for decades. "If you have to do a bad job, everyone here gives pressure with one voice," said an officer, "Let's do a good job instead of moving forward, not just shying away from responsibility." The people who are responsible are the ones who are active to prevent that from happening.'

Chief District Officer Kailas Thakurathi said that this campaign will not be stopped due to any pressure. Complaints have been received from many places about the presence of fake health workers and illegal medicine, drugs are being sold. We have started this campaign to prosecute the three,' he said, 'those who do wrong will be prosecuted.' We don't care about anyone's pressure and influence.'

He said that if there are any such medical conditions in his village, the locals have been requested to help by providing information.
