The Kailali branch of Nepal Journalist Federation has submitted a memorandum drawing the Prime Minister's serious attention to the attack on the media and journalists during the violent demonstration in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

A memorandum has been submitted to the Government of Nepal through District Administration Office Kailali demanding criminal charges against the culprits involved in the incident.

Journalist Suresh Rajak was burnt to death during Rajawadi's demonstration, Annapurna Post Daily's building was set on fire and vandalized, Kantipur Television and Himalayan Television were damaged, and journalist Dinesh Gautam was attacked and his leg was broken. The federation has drawn the attention of the government to this incident as a serious attack on freedom of press and expression.

The federation warned that if the demand is not met within a week, it will start a nationwide protest  is given . Also, the federation has demanded from the government to compensate the families of the deceased journalists, treat the injured journalists, compensate the damage caused to the media houses and ensure the freedom of the press .
