Darchula festival begins

The Darchula festival has started at district headquarters Khalanga. Sudurpaschim Tourism Trade Fair and Darchula Festival-2081 started from Friday. According to the organizers, the festival was organized for the promotion of trade and culture of the district.

Ganesh Singh Thagunna, former minister and UML Politburo member, inaugurated the festival organized by the Darchula Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the slogan 'The pride of Apinampa Malikarjun Choulani and Mahakali Darchula, our campaign to protect and promote local production art culture'. 

Since the district's touristic and religious places are the main attractions that attract tourists, the festival was organized with the aim of promoting the district's religious and touristic places.

He informed that stalls have been managed at the festival in order to sell and distribute goods and services of local agricultural businesses and service providers and to identify and get information about the historical, mythological and religious cultural heritage here.  According to

organizers, there are more than 100 commercial stalls at the festival. As the main attraction of the festival, there is a cultural tableau reflecting the diversity of Darchula, cultural and costume exhibition of Vyasi Souka community, sale and exhibition of food dishes along with lifestyle of Duhu, Marma, Lekam and Beas regions. 

Likewise, cultural performances by national and local artists, children's gardens and fairs will also be conducted every day.
