Thematic committees of Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly got leadership on Sunday. After the ruling Congress, UML and Civil Liberties Party agreed on the election process, which started on Friday, four committee chairpersons were elected on Sunday. The election of the chairman was repeatedly postponed due to the division between the ruling parties.
He was already the chairman of the legislative and provincial affairs chairman. During the partition, the Congress agreed to chair the Legislation and Provincial Affairs and Privileges Committee, the UML for Social Development, the Civil Liberties Party to chair the Economic Development and Natural Resources Committee, and to give the leadership of the Public Accounts Committee to the main opposition party, the Maoist Center. The parliamentarians say that because the chairman gets the dignity of office, vehicles and other facilities, there are clashes between the parties.
Accordingly, UML's Dharmaraj Pathak was elected to the Social Development Committee, Ghanshyam Chaudhary of the Civil Liberties Party to the Economic Development and Natural Resources Committee and Tulsi Devkota of the Congress was elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Privileges Committee.
Maoist's Akkal Bahadur Rawal has been elected as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee. Diwansingh Bista was already the Chairman of the Legislation and Provincial Affairs Committee.
All the four elected presidents were unopposed on Sunday. The newly elected presidents took oath on Sunday.
