Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that private schools have made a significant contribution to the education sector of Nepal.

At the opening ceremony of the fourth session of Private and Residential School Organization Nepal Pabson Sudurpaschim Province held today in Dhangadhi, he said that everyone felt the role of private schools.

The Home Minister said, 'There is no doubt that the community school should be said to be good. There is no doubt that the government should provide free compulsory education, but the level of public or community schools has not decreased because of institutional, private or residential schools. Therefore, there is no need to fight or make them compete. The improvement and contribution of both should be appreciated.'

He said that the government is working on policy and legal reform as the first priority. 'Policy reform means legal and structural reform, both sides are to be reformed. The work is being done accordingly,' said the Home Minister writer, 'for this reason, we are going to move forward by presenting the legislation in the federal parliament to pass the bill as soon as possible, amend it as needed, and draft a new law.' He mentioned that the education bill will be passed soon. 

Stating that the private sector has a great role and participation in the country's economy, the minister said that the government of Nepal believes that economic progress can be achieved only by promoting and protecting it. The government of Nepal wants to encourage the private sector. We are clear that the development of the private sector can develop the economy of the country as a whole,' he said.

Lalitraj Pant, president of Pabson Sudurpaschim, said that it is necessary for everyone to join hands for the development of private and residential schools.
