The CPN-UML Sudurpaschim Province Committee has expelled five leaders from the party who are members of the provincial committee and advisory council for being involved in the Bhim Rawal-led Matrubhumi Awakening Campaign.

State Advisory Council members Hark Kunwar and Lal Bahadur Khadka, State Committee members Jang Bahadur Vick, Dudhakala Bista and Keshar Mian are . All five of them are from Achham. 

It is mentioned in the statement issued by UML State Secretary Ran Bahadur Rawal that action was taken by the secretariat meeting saying that they were involved in illegal activities.
