Employees of accounting group in Far West are on strike

The employees of the accounting group under the Sudurpaschim province government have been protesting since Monday. Under the provincial government, there are 29 posts in the seventh and eighth (branch officer) levels of the accounting group, but there is only one post in the ninth (deputy secretary) level, so the employees of the accounting group have started a phased movement saying that the career development has stopped.

The recruitment structure sent by the then union government in the year 2074 is still maintained in Far West. Accounts officers say that since then, the state government has not reviewed the Organization and Management Survey (O&M).

At present, there are 29 posts of 7th and 8th level (branch officer) in the accounting group, and 16 people are working there. Accounting Officer Baldev Kapadi says that there is only one post in the ninth level (Deputy Secretary) and that too is filled, so they have not been able to move up to the higher level for years.  The employees of the accounting group who announced the

protest have warned that they will continue the dialogue until the 25th and if there is no hearing by that time, they will protest strongly. 'If there is no hearing even by the 26th, then we will be forced to reach a decision not to pay the expenses of any office under the state government,' said Narendra Sanyal, another accounting officer working in the office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers, 'We have submitted a memorandum through the chief secretary.' Accounting officers say that at least one-third of the posts should be filled.

On the other hand, the objection of accounting officers of Far West is also towards keeping a separate accounting group at the level of deputy secretary. There is only one group in the Rap First Class under the Nepal Administration Service in the Union. Even if they belong to any service up to the deputy secretary, all the administrative services are merged with the joint secretary," said officer Sanyal. There should be no separate service groups at the deputy secretary level in the state, just like there is no separate service group in the joint secretary in the union.'
