Mellekh rural municipality has been paving the roads within its area in a multi-year plan. In the financial year 2076/077, the rural municipality, which bought two buses and provided regular services, is currently paving the road.

From the fiscal year 2077/078, 10 and a half kilometers of road from Vindyavasini, the center of the rural municipality, to the border of Sanfebagar Municipality has been blacked. Hikmat Bahadur Budha, the Chief Administrative Officer of Mellekh Rural Municipality, said that the municipality has budgeted from its own budget by keeping it in a multi-year plan.

According to him, the main road of the rural municipality starts from Sanfebagar municipality. He said that the executive has decided the fare by purchasing buses to bring the locals to easy road access.

'From the center of Melekh to Sanfebagar, the fare has been fixed at 250 rupees. Other public transports have been taking 350," he said. "First we bought a bus and then the road paving work has started." He said that about 11 km of the road within the boundaries of Sanfebagar municipality is unpaved, but the municipality has paved it from its own borders.

He said that in the first year, the federal government got a supplementary budget of 40 million for road paving, and in the following years, the municipality itself allocated the budget and paved the road.

The supplementary budget from the federal government for the first 4 years is 4 crores. He said that the budget for 10 and a half kilometers of black roads is about 120 crores, and all other local level capital budgets have moved ahead of schedule. 

village council chairman Jwala Singh Saud said that the rural road blackening which was taken as a project of pride by the rural municipality is becoming successful. Chairman Saud said that it was carried out as a proud project to bring the people of Melekh, which is a remote municipality of the district, to easy access to the road.

'During the time of the previous public representative, the road gravel work was done. After we started the blackening work, it has almost been completed," he said, "After the blackening started from the border of the village, there was pressure to blacken the remaining roads as well. The road infrastructure development office in Sanfebagar area is being paved.

The road from the municipality's border to the center will be paved in this financial year, and from the next fiscal year, 27 kilometers of roads will be paved through the multi-year plan, taking into account the remote areas from the center of the municipality. He said that he is ready to do it.
