Two people were injured in a lightning strike at Patan Municipality-7 Kimtoli in Baitadi. According to the police, 25-year-old Nirmala Chand and 12-year-old Anita Bhatt were injured by the lightning that struck around 9 am on Monday morning.

According to District Police Office Baitadi, lightning struck an electric pole near the house of local Dammardatta Bhatt and two people were injured.

Chand, who was injured due to lightning, has burns near her neck, while Bhatt also has injuries on her body, Baitadi Police Spokesperson Police Inspector Janakraj Dhungana said. Both the injured have been taken to Dadeldhura Hospital for treatment.

A local Janak Bahadur Chand's buffalo and Deepak Damai's ox also died due to lightning, local Mohan Bohra informed. Lightning destroyed the wiring in the houses of Dammardatta Bhatt, Dharmanand Bhatt and Janak Bahadur Chand and also burnt the electricity meter.
