A clue was found after one and a half months, murder in a drunken stupor
After a month and a half, the police have found a new clue in the murder case of the elder couple of Laljhadi Rural Municipality-2 Sukkhad in Kanchanpur. The police have arrested one person from the same ward on the charge of being involved in the murder.
According to DSP Umesh Joshi of District Police Office Kanchanpur, 50-year-old Gangaram Rana of Kanj, Laljhadi Rural Municipality-2 was arrested. He was arrested on Wednesday and remanded for 10 days by the district court on Thursday.
'He said that I did the murder, it seems that he was killed because he was not given alcohol,' DSP Joshi said, 'He also gave the same statement to the court and the public prosecutor.' He said that he did not go to that place. But when he was questioned for the second time due to suspicion, he himself admitted to the murder.
According to DSP Joshi, there was suspicion because Rana was drinking and walking at night. Based on that, he said that nothing was revealed at first and when he was questioned again, everything was revealed.
46-year-old Ramesh Badayak and his wife 43-year-old Kamala of Laljhadi rural municipality-2 Binbari were murdered on the night of 8th October. The elder couple operated a liquor and meat shop at a place called Sukkhad, not far from the house. They used to stay in the shop. The shop is located in a field about 200 meters away from the settlement.
According to the statement given by the accused Rana to the police, he had reached the shop of the elder couple in the middle of the night while consuming alcohol. He also asked for alcohol there. But Badayak refused to give alcohol . On the contrary, he slapped Rana . At that moment, Rana grabbed a nearby wooden stick and hit Badaik. Badayak fell from there. Then his wife Kamala started crying . Rana, who escaped after killing him with the same chirpat, has given a statement .
'DSP Joshi has stated that he did not know where he threw the wooden stick while intoxicated,' said DSP Joshi He said that there may have been a murder. He said that more investigation is being done on the incident.
