The International Football Federation (FIFA) has decided to impose a ban on Nepal on Thursday. This is the first time in the history of Nepali football that FIFA has imposed a ban. This has led to uncertainty and confusion in Nepali football.
As FIFA stated on its website, its Bureau of the Council decided to impose a ban on Nepal. FIFA banned Nepal citing third-party interference as the reason.
Earlier, the National Sports Council had also suspended the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) for three months, which has been lifted. It was postponed after the council did not recognize the proposed elections of ANFA. The term of the current working committee led by Pankaj Nembang has also expired.
