Spain will have a full squad available when they face Cape Verde in the World Cup on Monday. Forward Victor Munoz, who has been recovering from an injury, has returned to training. Lamine Yamal and Nico William have also been linked with the squad. Spain have been hit hard by injuries in recent times.

Spain's World Cup preparations were disrupted by injuries late last season. Micheal Merino and Fabian Ruiz are also out of action. Barcelona midfielder Firmino Lopez is the only player who has not recovered in time. He still has a foot problem. Spain's biggest concern has been Yamal. He was injured while playing in the Spanish La Liga in April.

The 18-year-old winger is a key player for Spain as they bid to win the World Cup. Yamal was just two years old when Spain won the World Cup in 2010. William was injured in May while playing for Athletic Bilbao. Both did not play for their respective clubs towards the end of the season and focused on recovering before the World Cup.

Munoz was injured in May while playing for Osasuna. Spain coach Luis de Lallana is unlikely to use Munoz, Yamal and William in the match against Cape Verde. They will be fully fit by the match against Saudi Arabia. Spain's final league match will be against Uruguay. The result could decide who wins the group.

Spain was eliminated from the World Cup in 2022 after losing to Morocco in the quarter-finals. In 2024, Spain won the Euro in Germany. Spain also won the Nations League in 2023. They were runners-up in the 2025 Nations League. Spain has not advanced beyond the last 16 of the World Cup since 2010.
