Tristan Eriksson collapsed on the pitch again during a friendly match between Denmark and Ukraine on Sunday. He collapsed on the pitch five years ago at the European Championship.
The Danish Football Association wrote on social media after the match, “Eriksson has now regained consciousness and is in good health.” He collapsed on the pitch during a group stage match against Finland at Euro 2021.
He then spent six months away from active football and the 34-year-old Eriksson continued to play with a pacemaker. He collapsed on the pitch again in the 64th minute of the match, with Denmark leading 2-1.
The medical team immediately began treating him on the pitch and the referee later suspended the match. Denmark team doctor Morten Boesen said that this time Eriksen fainted on the field for a while and walked off the field on his own.
