Belbari became the champion by defeating the host Shahid Bhim Narayan Memorial Foundation Football Club Dhankuta by a margin of 6-5 goals in sudden death in the thrilling final match held on Saturday at Tallo Tundikhel, the headquarters of Dhankuta.
Motiv, Solomon King, Vishal Thing, Shyam Murur and Shishir Lekhi scored goals for Belbari. Vivek Poudel's shot was saved by the Dhankuta goalkeeper. Similarly, Priso, Vivek Gurung, Femi and Holemi Tob scored goals for Dhankuta. Ram Waji and Prithvi Chaudhary's shots were stopped by the Belbari goalkeeper.
The match, which became very competitive, was decided through a trybreaker after neither team could score in the scheduled 90 minutes. After both teams were tied in the trybreaker, the winner was decided by sudden death. Belbari stunned the hosts Dhankuta in sudden death and captured the title. Similarly, Salman King of Belbari was declared the high scorer, and he received a prize of Rs 11,005. The best defender was Mahendra Karki of Belbari, and he received a prize of Rs 11,005. The player of the match, best goalkeeper and best midfielder were also awarded in the tournament.
