Hosts Dhankuta have entered the finals of the Bhim Narayan Gold Cup held at Tallo Tundikhel in Dhankuta on Thursday. Dhankuta has moved closer to the title by defeating Sahales Football Club of Siraha by a 1-0 goal margin.

Amit Besra scored the decisive goal for Dhankuta in the ninth minute of the first half of the match. Besra's only goal was enough to take the team to the final.

Sahales, who were trailing in the match, tried continuously to equalize but could not succeed. In the second half, hosts Dhankuta maintained control of the match and put pressure on Sahales. Sahales' goalkeeper made excellent saves from half a dozen shots by Dhankuta players.

Vivek Gurung of host Dhankuta was declared the 'Man of the Player' of the match. He received a prize of Rs 6,500. The second and final semi-final match of the tournament will be held on Friday between Birtamod United Football Club of Jhapa and Belbari Football Club of Morang, the organizers have said. The final match of the tournament will be held on Saturday.
