Birtamod United Club of Jhapa has entered the semi-finals of the 18th Shahid Bhim Narayan Gold Cup football tournament in Dhankuta. Birtamod secured a place in the last four by defeating Gaighat United Football Club 3-1 in the quarter-final match on Monday.

Birtamod's Pradeep Budhathoki and captain Ashish Chapagain shone in the match held at Tallo Tundikhel in the Dhankuta district headquarters. Pradeep Budhathoki scored a goal in the first half of the match to give the team the lead. In the second half, captain Ashish Chapagain added two consecutive goals, putting Birtamod in a strong position.

Gaighat United's Sunil Khadka scored a goal in the second half, but it could not prevent the team from losing. After Sunil's goal, Ashish Chapagain scored his second personal goal and the third goal for the team to ensure Birtamod's victory.

Birtamod United captain Ashish Chapagain, who performed well in the match, was declared the 'Man of the Match'. He received a cash prize of Rs 6,005.

The tournament will be played on Tuesday between the host Dhankuta Football Club and the Georgian Football Club in Kalimpong, India, according to the organizers.
