The Shahid Bhim Narayan Gold Cup Football Tournament is scheduled to be held from 10th Jestha at the district headquarters in Tallo Tundikhel. The tournament will be held until 16th Jestha, according to the organizers.

The Shahid Bhim Narayan Gold Cup Football Tournament Organizing Committee held a press conference in Dhankuta on Thursday and informed about the preparations and management of the tournament.

According to the organizers, the winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 600,000, a trophy and a certificate, while the runner-up will receive a cash prize of Rs 300,000, a trophy and a certificate. The player declared as the 'Player of the Match' in each match will be awarded Rs 6,000, said Shambhu Pradhan, coordinator of the organizing committee. Various awards have also been arranged for the players who perform best in the tournament.

According to Purendralal Shrestha, chairman of the organizing organization, eight teams, including the organizing team, will participate in the tournament. Bhim Narayan Smriti Pratishthan, Birtamod United Football Club Jhapa, Rastriya Jagriti Club Itahari Sunsari, Belbari Football Club Morang, Gaighat United Football Club Udayapur, Sahales Youth Club Siraha, Sadobato Youth Club Lalitpur and Georgian Football Club will participate in the competition.

The organizers have stated that the 18th edition of the competition will cost around Rs. 4.5 million. It is said that various local levels and sponsoring organizations, including Dhankuta Municipality, will help in managing the expenses.

Last year, the winner of the competition received a prize of Rs. 500,000. This year, the prize money has been increased to Rs. 600,000, according to the organizers. The prize for the runner-up has also been increased from Rs. 250,000 to Rs. 300,000.

The competition, which was started in 2055 BS in memory of martyr Bhim Narayan Shrestha, has now reached its 18th edition.
