Nepal Police Club has won the title of the second National Women's Football Tournament-2083 in Butwal. In the final held on Saturday, Nepal Police Club, Kathmandu defeated Sankata Football Club, Kathmandu by a 1-0 goal margin to win the title.

The winner of the first edition of the tournament was Trinity Club, Walling. This is the third title for Police this season. In the final, Samjhana Lawati scored a goal for Police in the eighth minute of the second half of the game. The first half ended in a goalless draw. In a very competitive match, both teams focused on post attacks in the second half and took the game forward. In which Police managed to score a goal.

The game between the two teams became tense. The main referee Kirtisen Thakuri had to show 5 yellow cards in the match. The whistle blew to signal the end of the added seven minutes, and the players of both teams rushed to the field to face each other.

The ‘Player of the Match’ of the final match was Nepal Police Club’s scorer Samjhana Lawati. She received Rs 5,000 in cash. In the first semi-final, Nepal Police Club defeated last year’s winner Trinity Club, Baling, and in the second semi-final, Sankata defeated Abhishek Church.

The title winner Police Club received a shield, certificate, and a cash award of Rs 250,000. The runner-up Sankata received a cash award of Rs 125,000, a cup, and a certificate.

Similarly, the best player and highest scorer of the tournament was Sankata’s Lucia Jens. She received Rs 25,000 in cash. Similarly, the best goalkeeper of Nepal Police, Sapana Rai, The best defender was Monica Rajali Magar from Nepal Police Club, the rising player was Sahara Limbu from Nepal Police, the best forward was Nirmala BK, the best coach was Bhola Silwal from Nepal Police Club, and the best midfielder was Simran Rai from Sankata. They each received Rs 10,000.

Butwal Sub-metropolitan City Chief Khelraj Pandey distributed shields and cash prizes to the winning and runner-up teams and players. Both teams also participated in the Chandragadhi Women's Gold Cup Football Tournament held in Jhapa two weeks ago.

Last year's winner Trinity Youth Club Waling, runner-up Rising Star Club Kapilvastu, Padma Sports Club Okhaldhunga, RS Club Pokhara, Nepal Police Club Kathmandu, Sankata Club Kathmandu, Makawanpur Football Academy Hetauda and the organizer Bis Pachahattar Youth Club participated in the tournament.
