National Sports Council (NSC) member secretary Ramcharitra Mehta has urged the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to move forward in a transparent manner by following the law.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of CAN's annual general meeting that began in Biratnagar on Sunday, he mentioned that there is a tendency in Nepal to consider those who break the law as powerful. 'We should all be oriented towards following the law. Whoever breaks the law in our Nepal is considered strong. But whoever follows the law at the international level is considered strong. Therefore, all activities should be transparent,' he said.

Mehta said that no association is the sole responsibility of a single person and that if the leadership is strong, the organization will also be strong. He said that as cricket in Nepal is making significant progress, the association should not get involved in controversies. He also wished success saying that CAN has organized the general meeting even though it was late.

At the program, CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand said that the delay in holding the general meeting was due to the country's situation. Stating that the ACC and NSC have been informed about this matter, he claimed that CAN has been doing a glorious job for Nepali cricket. Similarly, CAN Secretary Paras Khadka said that the annual general meeting has been delayed due to technical and practical reasons. The general meeting will continue till tomorrow.
