Nepal on Saturday announced a 15-member squad for the Cricket World Cup League-2 series against the United States and Scotland, including Ishan Pandey. Ishan has been included in the Nepali team by changing one player from the team that played in League-2 against the UAE and Oman last week.
Ishan has been brought in to replace Bashir Ahmed. Ishan has been included in Nepal's ODI team for the first time. He was only in Nepal's alternate team in the series against the UAE and Oman. However, Ishan played in the Twenty20 International for Nepal in 2019. He has scored 33 runs while playing four Twenty20 Internationals for Nepal. At that time, he was the opening batting partner of the then Nepal captain Paras Khadka.
Left-handed batsman Ishan has been performing impressively for Nepal 'A'. He had scored 50 runs in the match against Scotland only on Saturday. Earlier, he had scored half-centuries in both the matches against Oman while playing for Nepal 'A'.
Ishan's bat is also doing well in the domestic competition. He scored 331 runs in 6 innings with 3 half-centuries in the 3 matches of the Jaya Trophy two-day tournament. Last month, he scored 286 runs with 2 half-centuries in 9 matches of the Prime Minister's Cup held in Madhesh Pradesh.
