For the Nepal Kabaddi League (NKL) Season-2, 6 teams from 6 cities have signed 84 players through the 'Players Draft' on Sunday, of which 54 are Nepali players and 30 are foreigners.

The 142 Nepali players selected in the 'Players Draft' were classified into three categories. 80 players from 14 countries were also placed in all three categories for foreign players. Out of them, 10 players from the first season were retained. Each team was given the facility to retain a maximum of two players. The remaining 74 players were taken through the draft.

Biratnagar Bahubali (Koshi Province), defending champion Janakpur Knights (Madhesh Province), Kathmandu Mavericks (Bagmati Province), Pokhara Lakers (Gandaki Province), Butwal Bulls (Lumbini Province) and Dhangadhi Wildcats (Sudurpaschim Province) are competing in the NKL Season-2 to be held from Jestha 22 (June 5) at the Rakhep Covered Hall at Dashrath Stadium.

All the teams have prepared their teams by taking 9 domestic and 5 foreign players through the draft. There was an arrangement to take at least one Indian player. There is a provision to have a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 14 players in the team. All the teams have formed a team of 14 players. The 30 foreign players playing in NKL 2 are from India, Thailand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan and Kenya. Some of these players are experienced in India's Pro Kabaddi League.

Defending champion Janakpur retained all-rounder Raju Tamata and Thai raider Chayphon Kamuni, while Kathmandu retained national team captain Ghanshyam Roka Magar. Biratnagar retained Sushil Chunara and Suraj Bohara, Pokhara retained Bhuvan Bohara and Robin Kunwar, Butwal retained Navin Deuba and Ganesh Parki, and Dhangadhi retained Prakash Giri.

The program was attended by NKL organizer Astronics Management Chief Amit Kumar Begani, All Nepal Kabaddi Association President Tulsi Thapa, National Sports Council Member Secretary Ramcharitra Mehta, Nepal School Sports Federation General Secretary Rajkumar Karki, Olympian Association President Deepak Bista, and others.
