The running competition organized by Kantipur Media Group (KMG) every year will feature four categories: Half Marathon, Corporate and Influencer Run (5 km), Extreme College Run (7 km), Wheelchair Race (3 km). Earlier, 2,560 people ran in the 2075 Kantipur Half Marathon.

The Kantipur Half Marathon, presented by Global IME Bank, will feature Extreme Energy Drinks as the powered by. According to Swarn, this time chips have been used in each player to get ‘accurate timing’ in the half marathon category.

The distance of the Kantipur Half Marathon will be 21.1 km. Both the male and female winners will win a prize of Rs 150,000. Those who come second to sixth will win Rs 75, 50, 30, 20 and 10,000 respectively. With the technical support of the Nepal Athletics Association, the winner of the wheelchair race of the competition will win 35,000, the second placer 25,000, and the third placer 15,000. The top three male and female winners in the Corporate and Influencer and College Run categories will receive various prizes and gift hampers. From this year, everyone who completes the race will be awarded a ‘finisher’s medal’. The winner of the College Run will get the opportunity to watch the IPL final. Last year, in the 13th edition, Khadak Bahadur Khadka of Tribhuvan Army Club and Santoshi Shrestha of Dhading were the champions in the men's category and the women's category, respectively. Kanchhi Maya Koju has won the women's title of the Kantipur Half Marathon the most times, five times, while runner Harikumar Rimal has won the men's title four times.
