Chasing a target of 147 runs, Bengaluru completed the victory in 15.1 overs. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal put on a 50-run partnership for the second wicket to lift Bengaluru's innings. Kohli played an aggressive innings and scored 49 runs off 34 balls, including 6 fours and 1 six, while Padikkal scored 10 runs off 11 balls, including 1 four. Both were dismissed by Avish Khan. Captain Rajat Patidar and Jitesh Sharma scored 23 runs before being dismissed in the same over by Prince Yadav. Rajat hit 1 four and 3 sixes in 13 balls and Jitesh hit 2 fours and a six in 9 balls. Tim David and Romario Shepherd, who were unbeaten, scored 14 runs each. Opener Phil Salt could only add 7 runs. He was also bowled by Prince.

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants, who were invited to bat first, had scored 146 runs in 20 overs after losing all their wickets. The biggest contribution to that was made by opener Mitchell Marsh.
