Japanese karate dress manufacturing company Surai Do has sponsored historic medal-winning karate player Erika Gurung with sports equipment. She has become the first Nepali player to receive such an opportunity through the company.
Gurung has been provided with 4 sets of karate dresses, 1 bag, 4 shin guards, 4 belts, 4 pairs of gloves and 5 T-shirts, informed the head coach of the national karate team, Kushal Shrestha. The agreement will remain in place for 2 years.
According to head coach Shrestha, this kind of international support will boost the morale of the players and have a positive impact on their performance.
Head coach Shrestha said that the sponsorship of Nepali players by a world-famous brand like Surai Do is a significant achievement for the Nepali karate sector and expressed confidence that it will increase the interest of international brands in Nepali players. It is said that coach Kushal Shrestha himself took the initiative with the sponsor for the sponsorship.
